Game today was pathetic. Wonder how many times Bo has turned over in his grave this season?
Time for a new coach & coaching staff

This coaching staff is an embarrassment to the University and the Maize and Blue. They ALL gotta go and start over from scratch. Harbaugh walked around looking like he was lost or something today...... This is UNACCEPTABLE, PERIOD!!!

Michigan is a poorly coached team who has lost the confidence of its players. Been watching M football since the 60s and have never seen a more poorly coached team.

Been saying it for a few years; you can pay someone a whole lot less to accomplish what Harbaugh has.

If he's not gone then TTUN really doesnt have any desire to be relevant again.

One thing really bothers me.They go out and recruit the best talent they can find.Give them a full ride. Then in a couple of years they turn pro.How can you build a program when the players you recruit leave after a couple of years. Why cant they do something about this. How long has it been this way?I remember not to long ago that players stayed for their fours years. What happened and why.Seems if you get a full ride you should stick around. After all,the college has invested in you.Where would these players be if not for the colleges.

Very poorly coached poorly prepared team. Man UM has wasted a lot of $$$$ on Harbaugh and got nothing in return. I would argue you could plug in a coach from any middle of the road program and get better results.

    Baby brain right here.

The opportunity costs of staying doesn't make any sense. Moving kids onto the NFL is precisely how you build a program. The university investment in these kids pails in comparison to what the kids bring in revenue for the university. Harbaugh is the one to blame for on field performance, but he is doing his part to bring in talent and move them on to the next level.

Exactly. Too much money to be made in the NFL, why risk injury and a potential professional career just to stick around at the college level? Part of it is increased selfishness in today's society but that's a separate discussion for a different thread.

First off, if you want to recruit and sign elite talent, you have to convince them that your program will give them the best opportunity to play at the next level. All these highly rated recruits want to play in the NFL and use the universities as a stepping stone to get there.
Secondly, a player may not declare for the NFL draft until he has been out of high school for 3 years.
Thirdly, when a player is offered a “full ride”, it is not a 4 or 5 year commitment from the school. It’s a one year commitment. If a player stays for 4 years he has actually obtained four one year commitments. The university can pull that scholarship at the end of any year. Happens a lot at programs like Alabama where a guy doesn’t play to the level they thought and they need the scholarship to offer to another 5 star. It has actually happened several times on the Michigan basketball team. Kids need to be invested in their teams but in the environment in which they play, they also need to look out for their own best interests. It’s appears that there’s no loyalty from the kids but there’s none from the university either. They’re both using each other. It’s a symbiotic relationship.
Fourthly, sending kids to the NFL after 3 years is a great recruiting tool. They can tell these great recruits, “ look at Joe Blow who plays the same position as you. He stayed here 3 years and now he’s in the NFL”. Kids eat that stuff up. May not be the way we like it but that’s just the way it is.

Fels is correct. A much more thoughtful response.

My baby brain comment was based on your complaint that the players you were bringing in are actually too good. Doesn't really pass the smell test, unless you were born yesterday.

I am an OSU fan, I can tell you bringing in top talent every year makes the program stronger. The young kids constantly push last years starters. Those that move onto the league come back every summer to workout with the current team. As a fan after watching a starter for two years, with a few exceptions, you are always itching to see what the next in line can do because theyve shown glimpses and a highly recruited player. Most importantly all of this serves as a massive recruiting tool and program builder. It becomes bigger than any player or coach if your sole focus is on bringing in the best talent and moving them onto the league.

First time in the history of the Michigan football program that they did not win a game on their home field.
