feral hogs?

    just curious but with all the hunters in the woods for the last few weeks how come there are no reports of hogs shot during deer season/:confused::fish:

    A friend of mine shot a 175# Sunday . North of Big Rapids on public land . A big sow .

    Was it a feral pig or a wild boar? I'm not scared of a feral pig, but a boar I would be concerned about.

    For one, he said it was a sow, second, if your not as scared of a feral as a russian hog then you don't know what you are dealing with... a feral hog can be just as mean and nasty as a russian, just depends on how long its been feral.... I have seen domestic hogs that would rather take a bite out of you as look at you....

    Curious, I didn't know UP Michigan had a feral pig population even. Is it really true?

    I actually stumbled across a pig trap a couple weeks ago on midland state land. didn't know that.

    I believe I remember that Bioactive posted a pic about 5-7 years ago of a feral pig he killed on his property in the SLP. That sure looked like a pig that was about 50% or more Russian boar. Not all that far from a pig shooting farm as I recall.
    The fact was that some pigs did escape from these shooting pens and something needed to be done.
    No doubt the majority of sightings and killing of "feral" hogs are 4H projects that got outside of some kids pen.

    Deer check station asks if any hogs ,or hog sign was/ were seen.

    There were a few members that had posted pictures of wild hawgs they had killed.There were also a few trail cam pictures too.
