Drove straight toward the rising Sun to about 26 ft. And started getting perch as soon as we set anchor. Fished from 8: 30 to 11:00 when my son in-law Sam had to leave for work. Kept 38 perch. Lots of small walleye and of course many white perch. Almost dropped him off at the dock and went back but out but there will be other days! Sent from my iPad using Michigan Sportsman
My dad and I were out from 10:30 til about 2 - 28 ft deep straight out from SSP. Kept 52 perch and a walleye. Lots of small walleye here too. Fishing shut down when the wind picked up
Yep... soon as it turned South it went to crap. Started out inside the pack in 28 FOW. 90 min, 2 moves and 3 fish in the box. Moved up to the point in 24.5 FOW and boxed 42 in about 90 min. Last 5 fish took me another hr once the wind shifted. Got pretty lumpy on the way in. Dogs thought it was great since they love to try and herd the waves! Truck is going to smell like wet dog till ice season! Red bead rig and gold spinner rig did best today. Minnow heads took about half the fish.
Hope to see you and your brother out there Friday! Sent from my Pixel 2 using Michigan Sportsman mobile app
Bill, I have had that Engle bucket for a few years and really like it. Have about 1/2 dozen of the plastic minnow buckets in various configurations but the engle i found to be the best keeping the water cool and the minnow alive longer. Marty
Thanks for the info looks like I will be It's getting one soon. I like the way the lid has snaps on it, No spells in boat or shani on way out
Take the plunge! Used mine several times getting bait the night before instead of waiting in line in the morning (for the minnow guy to show up)
Been awhile, but finally made it out of SSP. Same report as above. Fished 9-2 when south winds kicked up and minnows ran out .2 scoops from Jeffs with various size emerald shiners. Quality pick of fish at good action , not fast and furious. Set down on some fish marks in 23 fow and never moved. Lots of 9-11 inch fish with only a couple throw backs. The little 7-9 inch walleyes (6) made me optimistic of things to come . 12 1/2 lbs at cleaners with my best guess of 30 fish . No where near the line , but could see the large pack east. If you set a perfect size , whole shiner down , it was hit immediately. Picky buggers !
buy a Yeti 5 gallon bucket, with the optional Lid. Put a Styrofoam insert in the inside (get on amazon). Buy a pump and insert the hose thru the plug on the lid. get a air stone. Done and better than my Engle. I wasn't a fan of the Engle. if you think its water tight, it isn't.
