It’s based on photoperiod, so no.

After November 15 and the orange army come out most of the rutting activity by me comes to a stop. I know it still occurs but I don't see it. So hunting pressure through out the season can have a affect on someone's interpretation of the peak of the rut. I know I better have a buck killed before opening day of gun after that my chances go south. I think the best days are from November 5 to 14 every year.

I’d say so. Max deer scrapes bucks are hanging around does more. Haven’t seen any hard core chasing yet

Not early. Not late. It’s mid-October. What you are observing is normal pre rut activity. It happens every year as soon as bucks shed velvet. This business of early or late rut is a fallacy.

I think it feels early because there are more bucks on the property than I’ve seen owning the property since 1991.
We had a windstorm that took down hundreds of big red pines a year and a half ago and the resulting understory has provided extra food and cover.

Settled in this morning in my thicket/bedding area stand with the strong winds today, that is when I can access that spot.2 mature bucks were under the stand before I could get my bow up both grunting as they were walking kind of weird but hey I didn’t mind no shot obviously lol
