Just a "soft" opening. Just the outdoors section will open, the building will remain closed.

I dont know what is in the building but the outdoor portion is probably what counts to many.

I'm guessing ya might have to hide behind a tree to pee ? lol....whatever the case it's a start & good to hear....finally....I hope next spring there are some limits of Walleye pulled by folks who can't afford a boat....that would be cool, and probably turn into a whole "nother" problem, lol....

If you fish that area in the spring make sure to wear a hockey helmet. Will be a total mess.

There's a boardwalk off the sidewalk along West Jefferson you don't need to go into the refuge to walk out on. We've been fishing off and on from that boardwalk. There is a sign says no fishing, but no one ever said anything. I suppose now that the refuge is open, there will be workers there stopping folks from doing what we were.

That closed off a good duck area, think I'll consult a CO about the 450ft rule from that building.

The fishing pier is going to be a zoo. There will likely be pier/boat conflicts in the spring, maybe even some on the pier as well.

Got there a little after 8:AM this morning and walked out on the pier. Met two fishermen there, one of whom caught the first fish, a sheepshead, there this Opening Day. It looks like a nice setup.
