Does This Buck Know I am there?

My thought is he's scent checking the area.

I'd leave that stand where it is and put another in, preferably on the other side of him.

 

That deer is probably hibernating in someones freezer.

 

My guess is he has either scented you after you left, or he is reacting to the camera. After years of running cameras, I don't put them near my stands any more. In fact, Im starting to join the camp of using cameras less and less. This year I'm going to put just one on a years old mineral site just to get an inventory of what is there to hunt. I'm starting to believe they do more harm than good but that is a different topic for a different discussion.

 

Like others posted, he probably got a little whiff of human and is investigating. That is an incredible buck.

 

I no longer put cameras near stand sites. Seems like the bucks always are pictured looking at the camera and then they never show up at that spot again.

 

You're good. Hunt that stand and put an arrow through that deer.

Great deer. I think he's scent checking or there is something with these cams deer pick up on. All too often I see deer looking at the cam in the 2nd pic, even the non flash cams.

 

Get the cam out of there, leave your stand, and kill the buck
