I was asked today what the minimum acreage was to buy a private land doe permit. Seems like I read it was 5 acres but couldn’t be sure and don’t want to pass along the wrong info. I tried to look it up in the guide and cant find anything, anyone know for sure the answer to this question......thanks !

You could also be a “guest” on someone else’s private land. You must supply a phone number of land owner while buying tag.

Is this in the WCO or antlerless digest? Thought they did away with this when they dropped tax ID numbers

My neighbor had 4.73 acres and could not get private antlerless tags but maybe it has changed. I do not see anything in the digest so it might not matter anymore.

I’ve never been asked how much land I owned to buy a doe tag...

I have no clue what my brain was doing with those quotations. But upon further review I can see how this was taken wrong lol. But that Jim trick might come in handy in a lot of life’s predicaments. Might try leading with that while knocking on some doors for permission.

    Me either?
When I bought mine, which has been over and over for several years, I don't remember anything about acreage size. All I can remember is them asking if you were the owner and what your phone number was.
    It may have had so

I’m not aware of a requirement. I buy private land antlerless tags every year, I only get asked for my phone number. Nobody has ever called me

    One thing I always wondered.

If I bought a Private land doe tag and used my Dad's number for his place. Would it be legal to use it on my buddies land across the road? They don't shoot does generally, but IDK if I have ever seen anything saying it is good for that property only.

Pretty sure they did away with acreage requirements several years ago. When I started out, it was 40 contiguous acres, then it went to 10, then 5, and now I'm almost certain the requirement was eliminated.

Good for any private property within the same DMU

That is kinda what I assumed, but I have only ever used one private land tag and it was on my Dad's place.
