Trust me....it ain’t for profit I would venture a bet that there is NOT one Law enforcement in this state that doesn’t put in for federal grants yearly
If it were for profit they’d all be driving Denalis with 5k miles and carrying Kimbers instead of Glocks

There Will be a bunch of guys saying they didn't know, Just like anytime a new rule is put in place. My FIL thought I was joking when I told him his friends couldn't bait any more. This was yesterday. I swear folks don't read or pay attention to the news.

I was thinking the same thing. I can see anything with my drone that someone in a plane with binos can see. Can't cover as much ground, but would be a good way to target suspected violators.

What makes you think it was a DNR drone? Chances are, it was just someone playing with their toy.

If it was the DNR, and they're comfortable that you're not violating from afar, it's less intrusive than them pulling up boat side.

I'm sure it's waaaayy more than a $350 bait pile. Probably much more satisfying though...

Agreed. I mentioned to a buddy that baiting was banned next year. His response was "yeah right, real funny". Had to send him the link to the DNR page announcing the ban. Had I not mentioned it, he'd probably never know any different.

It is a felony federally and is punishable by fine and up to 20 yrs in prison.

Federal courts ruled on it in Boggs vs meredith.
