So my hunting buddy only bought a single deer tag and thinks he can buy his second tag after he fill his single tag. I think if you buy a single tag and fill that tag you are tagged out for the season and your buck hunting is over. Who is right the guy who was trying to save $20 or the guy who bought the combo tag ?

That is why they sell so many and neither one is used. Be a drag taking one opening day and be tagged out if you are up at a hunt camp.

Having grown up hunting in the one buck tag era, filling a tag on opening day was the best and was the source of extreme jealousy. Your next day started with a leisurely hot breakfast around 9am followed by a hot shower, hours after everyone else had to get up and hit the woods. There was nothing like it. Younger hunters today wouldn't know anything about it.

Sorry about the tangent, just reminiscing.

How many would take that deer home and butcher it, then claim they lost the first license and buy another?

His buck hunting is not over. He can purchase up to 10 antlerless tags that are good for bucks with antlers less than 3”. That can include those elusive 5.5 year old bucks but only after they shed their antlers.

    A sportsman wouldn't. A poacher would.

But you also get to oversee the Beer supply - Just have to ensure they are all cold for the evening - I check each one, Yep cold but now empty.
Have lots of "safety meetings" while splitting wood builds up a thirst. Oddly enough there is loads of keystone light remaining.
