My first time at making an Antler knife for a Christmas present. Thinking of putting a guard at the base of the knife. Think like a Copper piece would look good? I could do Aluminum but copper seems like it would look better.

    Lookin like a Mora blade.

Brass, copper, aluminum , that's on you!

    I'd let you use a silver coin...:D

Nah, just wrap it w that black electrical tape. Just screams “functional”!

All kidding aside, that is a beautiful work of art! I’m partial to brass, unless you have a way to keep copper from staining?

Awesome work! I like brass but copper would work nice. I wasn't expecting a present. :)

A silver 50 cent piece can be shaped into a nice hilt, you can sand off top & bottom & polish it. Unless that’s illegal, then that’s a dumb idea.

That looks really nice. Do you think copper would tarnish/turn green?

    Looks great.
In a deer blind this second or I would send a picture of one I made years ago for a possible idea.

I used the last few inches about 3 of the tip of the tine.
Just drilled and slotted it for the blade Groves the handle to radius for close to seamless fit. Mixed epoxy with left over horn dust to pack in the voids
