Darn Weather

    Looking at the extended forecast, it looks like 12 of the next 14 days may be above freezing. Just when we finally got some decent ice.

    There's a lot of lakes with 8-10 inches of solid ice. Some of those days the temps will only be above freezing for a few short hours. The ice is here for a while. Just have to know which lakes to fish and which ones to stay off.

    Jmaddog is right, there is a lot of ice on some lakes and I think most lakes will be just fine, but carry a spud and stay away from those last to freeze lakes. Truth be told I like the idea of not having to bore through 3 feet of ice like 3 years ago.

    Yup, love when I can punch through 5-8 inches. Makes for some quick drilling and more fishing.

    yea but sucks for us that loves to fish crystal lake in benzie county.

    Most nights are still below freezing, shouldn't hurt it to bad.
