Cwd?

Discussion in 'Whitetail Deer Disease' started by Spartan Surplus, May 14, 2019.

  1. Just pulled my trail cams cards and this deer looked different than the rest, I know the hair changes this time of year, but this one looks a little rough. I dont have a face pic. Property is in Barry County, near Hastings.

Hides look rough in spring when coat wears off for the summer coat.
Not unusual to find clumps scattered about.
Your pictured deer (in my opinion) has a winter hide still ,with shedding beginning.

C.W.D. confirmation is through being tested.....
Good weight , and an appetite hint at it being alright though.

Looks normal to me. Speculating on CWD based on a photo is foolish.

He’s got bed head! That’s a buck to. He’s been fighting the elements for the last 5-6 months. He should look a little rough.

That looks like backstraps on Sept 21. I have pics of deer like that. My Shepard does the same thing this time of year.

Sorry didn’t know you were a youngster. The signs were there though. Good luck.

Yep - Completely normal at this time of year. I pulled a camera card yesterday too, and had several deer that looked like that.

Looks pretty good to me. Probably starting to shed its winter coat.

That's a side effect from baiting.
