(You might have to wait a few days to see the 2019 update. Currently, it is showing 1704 tested with 7 positive.)

I think that those new tests/positives will count towards the 2020 results.
I believe the book was closed on the 2019 season on Jan. 1. Not sure when the 1st update was posted last year to show the deer tested after the 2018 season had ended.
Not a lot of deer tested Jan 2-thru mid-Sept.

Some info released today that some will find interesting. The book has been closed on the 2019 season with 65 positives. I think the 2-7-2020 update might be the final numbers. I think the additional positives(Jackson Co. ??) mentioned in posts #1049 & 1051 will go on the 2020 count.

No further info ? I'm not seeing anything on the DNR site or with a Google search.

Nothing is done consistently... Prior years final numbers were posted at end of February.

I would guess the culls from Jackson might have been the source of the +4 positives.

That's my guess too. But 4 more !!?? For the year, Jackson Co. had 7 positives out of 1704 tests. Less than 1/2%.

Agree and you are better than I am navigating the DNR site.

Any thoughts of the 4 positives above ? If they have placed those into the 2020 numbers, which makes sense to me, I'm not able to locate any charts published with those numbers.
The goals are probably not established yet for 2020 so this would be 1 reason not to publish any info regarding 2020 yet. That and the number tested so far this year is very small.

I've not seen where the additional positives have been referenced anywhere but in the dashboard totals which includes all positives found since 2015 but none of the testing #'s.

At this point, I would guess they intend to add these into 2020 numbers once the goals are established. One of the challenges in understanding the numbers they share is some of the tests/CWD+ numbers are pulled forward into the current year. Hard to know if this ends up doubling up actual numbers tested or not. Just don't have a good source for the test data and the department shut down data sharing.

Assuming these will roll into 2020, the total CWD+ cases thus far is 8.
    Breakdown is as follows:

    Montcalm: Day(1)
    Kent: Cannon(1)
    Gratiot: Washington(1) ** New twp
    Jackson: Spring Arbor(3), Summit(2)

Thank you for posting that information. I talked with Cameron D. at the Disease Lab this morning. I was most interested in the 5 out of Jackson Co. He told me that 5 out of 175 submitted were positive. These were all targeted deer and taken by the service that employs what we call sharpshooters.
    For anyone interested:
    5/175=2.9%
2019 was 7/1704=.4% for Jackson Co.
The Shooting service did us all a favor of getting these deer out of the population.

Above post might be of interest.
Anyone have knowledge about how sharpshooter deer to be tested are handled at a deer processor? Should not take all that long in Feb. to get back test results.
