Crossing the border with a borrowed trailer??

    I’ve done it in the past years ago just wondering if I will get hung up at the border borrowing my buddies covered trailer I will have the registration in hand just curious how many guys have done this recently.

    We did it a couple years back. Also took a letter from owner with contact information incase they wanted to call him. Didn't have any issues.

    The letter is key...
    Know the plate # too. Every once in a blue moon they ask for it.

    I do it all the time, just have the registration and the letter as mentioned. I always make sure I have it but have never needed it, out of the 10+ times I crossed this year (Sarnia) I've never been asked. Just remember the golden rule, only answer questions, don't offer information if not directly asked. It's not for the purpose of hiding any info, it's because most boarder agents have a routine and they like to stick to it. Happy CBP, happy me!!! Good luck!!!
