Has anyone tried using 12' Crappie rods on the pier for steelhead/browns/whitefish? I know some of the Grand Haven guys that do it and I just broke a rod and I'm looking to replace my set of 10'6 noodle rods.

I know a couple guys that use them for centerpin/float rods, so why not?

I use the 12' cabelas whoopin stick crappie rods for the pier. Great rod for the price ($25)and works flawless for steelhead and browns. Only thing you need to look out for is the ceramic insert in the top eyelet seems to fall out quite easily, but a quick $3 fix with a fuji eyelet and your good to go. Also make sure you tape around your reel on the reel seat, you dont wanna be losing those expensive baitrunners to those sliding reel seats. Overall a great rod.
