Anyone have any updates on the coldwater river in Kent county?
Is this the river a while back some company cut down all the trees around it for a stretch?
Yes it is. The part that got cut I'm pretty sure resides mostly, if not entirely, in Barry county.
The state stocks the river extensively.
I'm sure the growth isn't back yet, they cut down some old growth stuff.
hope this doesn't get locked as its an important issue in michigan
Looking for updates on the tree cutting or the fact that 10,000 gallons of liquid cow manure was dumped into it a few weeks ago?
This poor stream gets the “borrowed mule treatment” every time... sigh
Where did you hear about the cow manure and where on the stream did it go in?
I was there this last week, everything seemed normal.
That's messed up. Did not hear that. No fish kills reported? Hmmm...idk.
I didn't really want to report on fish in that small river, but I went this last Tuesday.
Nothing looked out of norm. Little stockers coming up all over. Cars parked at several bridges. I'm not doubting it, its been known to happen before.
It gets fished hard. I'm guessing most here know about it.
As I understand, that river runs high e coli numbers during hot summer times regularly.
