Clinton River Steelhead 2020

I watched guys on you tube catching fish with laffy taffy

 

Couple fish from the weekend. Covered a lot of water on Saturday without even a bobber drop then went 3 for 3 on Sunday and 4 for 4 yesterday afternoon. Most on bags.

 

Very nice Mike, it’s been a while. My Clinton trips have been short and sweet. Hour hikes.
My sons had the day off lucky wife can work from home. I figured I’d jam out the day’s work and get home in time to grab one of the boys and wet a line. Oldest was down so off we went, first two runs nadda second two runs game on! The boy is starting to get casting on the river, but still much more work to do. He hasn’t hooked his own but does good fighting them, at least the open face. Now the centerpin is going to take some time, we team work that set up. Lol

Heck yah man beautiful fish! Question do you eat steelhead?

 

Catch and release on the Clinton, but I will keep a couple hens from the Big Manistee for eggs. I just don't care much for steelhead or salmon on the table.

 

I Have never targeted them but I live locally was just wondering. And I love watching all the guys fishing the manistee when I go up there hunting

Didn't go today..elected to go tomorrow instead.

 

At least it was better than working

Worked today, my wife shot down a morning trip. But afternoon might work out. How was the color today? Other day things were looking more clear then I like

 

Pretty clear but there were some steelie green places. Rain please

 

Fished for about 3 hours today caught a big fat skunk ......probably try again for a bit tomorrow

 

No chrome today..but I got dinner!
