Pretty hard one to go wrong with, but be careful using an online chat page for mushroom confirmation.

Gosh these are still popping, wish it would rain around me!

Regarding Chickens....What trees do they prefer to grow on and will they regrow on the same trees year after year if they have been picked. My father just gave me my first one and it was DELICIOUS! I now am amped on finding some myself!

If I was hunting for them Oak's would be my choice. Yes I have harvested from several stumps this past 4 yrs. Standing living tree's have not been as kind to me, but some huge flushes off living tho.

When caught young before the edges flatten it is a wonderful mushroom. That's why those vegans pay so much for them. Have fun!

Thanks for the info Jeff! Looks like I might have to go check some state land this Saturday. Lots of oak in certain areas around the middle of the state!

So after seeing this post, I noticed a tree in somebody's yard, and managed to get a quick snap as I drove by. Chickens?

Hoping to see some this weekend when out bow hunting. Chicken and venison would be a nice combo

You'll have to be quick to duck under that rope in order to get those, with all the posted signs!!

Nah, I don't trespass! Mushrooms are to plentiful for such foolishness. I'm the type that won't even fish a legal fishable trout stream thru private property cuz of private land. I like peace and tranquility. For the most part people suck! Sad

LOL... I was kidding. I'm thinking of stopping, introducing myself, and asking them. It's always awkward the looks after asking people for peices of their rotten tree...
