I live near the Cass RIver in Caro, and I'm wondering if it is safe to eat the crayfish that are in the river. I would be looking to harvest them in mid to late summer.

I am not familiar with the Cass river. When it comes to crayfish they have a very low tolerance for pollution, so I’ve read(reason I say that we used to catch them in the rouge river as kids, guess it was a clean stretch? Lol). If you would eat fish from it I would trust the crayfish.

I also live in caro and have eaten them before out of the river. Never did very good catching them but haven't tried real hard. I figure it's a food chain thing, the fish eat them and I eat the fish.
