Anyone been out? Always wanted to make it up to try for perch early spring. The 4 hour drive is hard when I can be on Erie in a half hour lol.

I was out last Thursday from 10 am till 7 pm. Targeted perch.... no luck. Spent quite a while searching for them with electronics..... no go. Fished poverty and maple bay with minnows / wigglers...... deep and shallow .... no luck. Did catch one pike in28" range and returned him to lake. Slow day of fishing but nice day to be on the water. Got the old gas in boat all burned up too!!

Thanks for the information. I would think that there would be some fish in Maple bay.

Yes. Docks are in at state park and maple bay.
Launch at state park needs dredged..... was awfully shallow on west side of dock. East side of Dock was better. I launched and retrieved at state park

I was thinking the same thing.... but I couldn't find em last Thursday. May need to go again and try soon. Warmest water in lake last week was in poverty bay. 48 Deg. Most of Burt lake was 39 degrees...... even in the area between sturgeon and Indian rivers was only 41 Deg.

Right on thanks. Yeah it's like that every year until they dredge it out. Last year I darn near had my whole truck in the water before my boat came off the trailer

How deep is it off the state park? I will be up on opening day, but not sure if I should hit west twin in Lewiston or head up to Burt.

Biggest pike I ever landed was on the opener jigging Burt lake between the rivers. It was about 40", the picture should on this site somewhere.

10 years ago, during my fat period.....I guess 40" is close.
