Just heard bolles and sterling have docks in. You trolling or jigging, heard there doing both?

I hit another area lake this week jigging for lakers(one hit, one on for a moment), and the ice was the best I've encountered all year. No snow, 15 inches of clear and 10 cloudy inches. The biggest issue was getting up and over the snow piles at the road ending, I had to winch the ATV up and over the mountain.
Burt's ice was saturated with water the last I seen.
I'm done for the year ice fishing, my mind is on the soft water, and getting ready for that.

Saw the same thing on Black Lake last weekend. I played on the ice Friday evening, driving through a foot of water for kicks. On Sunday the water had frozen, no snow or slush to fight, and it was a nice high 20’s temp with no wind. Beautiful day to fish, except walleye and pike season was over. Figures.

How is the ice at the maple bay launch. Thinking of driving up from tc on friday. Don't really want to balance my way out on a board or 5 to get to good ice.

Was still 20 inches plus of ice last weekend on Burt. 14 to 18 inches of good ice and 4 to 8 inch of soft white ice on top.

Found a few perch on the west side yesterday in 10fow. Still 18” of good ice and solid shoreline. I’d say it’s a gamble that we’ll be clear by the walleye opener.
