I put 20 ounces of 7up to a gallon of water. Since I had noting to go by and didn't want to ruin it.. It was excellent. I think I will try more 7up next time.

Just slightly off topic, but thinking about maybe going Monday to try for some. Just looked at the projected weather for that evening and it is calling for winds in the mid 20 mph range from the north. Would this still be doable or would that want to wash everything off the breakwater?

Don't know about the 7 Up but the way my wife and I have done it (and loved it) was cut the strips down to about 1" x 1". Get a pan full of water, put in one cup of salt and quarter an onion. Bring this to a boil and then drop in the squared pieces of fish. Takes about 2 minutes to turn them white indicating done. Take them out dip in butter. Throw the water, salt and onion out. This is the way we have done it for about 35 years and have never had a bad meal, always good.

I was thinking about tommorow night too but I'm thinking those winds are not going to allow that. Hoping for a good day to go here soon.

Do you guys fish in the Caseville harbor or off the wall in the lake? Just curious if it would work in the first two lower ports of Lake Huron.

Most prefer the breakwall. Have caught burbot in Caseville from marina in town to end of breakwall. There are burbot probably at every port. The numbers and size out of Caseville are hard to beat tho

Still fighting multiple symptoms. 7 days in hospital was enough this round. Worry now is where to go if I get worse. Getting Oxygen delivered today. Every place is swamped but some are definitely better than others..

If you need anything at all let me know. Got more venison, wild meat is good for the immune system! :) Made some pretty good summer sausage at John's (Huntahalic). ;)
