I was out at a big managed hunt area yesterday for the first time since spring. I was kind of surprised that not much has been planted or mowed this year. Mostly overgrown fields is all I found. A couple fields had some sad looking beans in them, but most did not. I am assuming not much was done this year due to budget constraints.
Consider yourself lucky. The SGA near me hasn’t had any regular CRP other than a single spot which gets corn. The rest of the alleged CRP has been fallow 3+ years running... Sent from d_mobile
I'd guess back in April or so a conversation in Lansing went something like this: "Wow, we really screwed up the economy. We're not gonna have much tax revenue coming in." "Take money from DNR, spread it around. We'll make excuses later."
