Planted Buckwheat today. It should be hammered by August 1st. What's left I'll work in when I plant Brassicas. It never gets very tall.

As long as frost stays away your buckwheat should be desirable for the next 6 maybe 8 weeks. I’ve never had deer browse on buckwheat once flowering begins.

I've never had mine make it to the flowering stage.

I also only get stems now that they have developed a taste for it, I’m going to try sun hemp next year for more bio mass if the clover I planted a few weeks ago fails to get established.

Planted mine last week and it is up already. It gets browsed heavily around me but I still get some to flower and seed then I mow and disc it in for a second crop.

I’ve never had buckwheat eaten much at all but i still plant it every year. Pollinators love it and it is good for soil building and weed control.
