I think I've read a post or two on this site where the message seems to be that the colder the water gets, the better the walleye fishing gets. Not sure if that's true or not as that water gets down toward the mid/low 30's, which is what it will probably do over the next week or two.

I have the last two weeks of December off, and so if it is a 'fishable' day during that time, I'd like to get out there if you guys think the fish will still be on the feed. I've never fished that late in the year. Any opinions would be appreciated!

With the looks of the long term forecast in sure all the ramps will be froze in soon. The year before last we fished on Christmas Day and did awesome out by Stoney with the normal program. It all depends on the weather.

We pounded the Eyes just days before Christmas in 2015. The water temp was 34, and they were podded up under Shad in 12-14fow. Super slow trolled P10’s, short leads, 0.8 to 1.0 SOG. ImageUploadedByOhub Campfire1512496686.835454.jpg
I’m hoping for a chance to get out once this WX settles down again ....

No, Ramps will be frozen! Walleye’s gone! Winterize your boat! Get your ice fishing stuff ready! Not worth going any more....

I hope you’re wrong, but I’m afraid you may be right! I’ve looked out 10 days and don’t see a single day or night above freezing. Good news for ice fishers and bad news for us that cant’ let go.....

    Lake Erie or work.
I saw that too - Saturday winds gusting to 35 made the decision for me. Oh well - let’s hope for an early spring
