Have not seen blank weight's for this rod anywhere, I would assume it's much more than the AMERICAN made in USA st1562imx. The IMX is the lightest 13ft'er you can get. Many have said The best 13ft'er ever made! Even my 1388/9-3pc GLX wiegh's more. 2.50 ounce. It's only 11.6'

I'm sure there's some guys on the canadian boards that will know the weight on that rod. In fact, I've only seen one american fishing a "true" IMX as opposed to the "float" series. I'm more of an IM6'er, wish I could help.

Imo, The float series is more of a blend of gl3. It's not even close to the IMX that I am used too! Loomis discontinued because of warranty issues- Americans too often tied as spinning blanks and with Overhead casting this caused too many problems. An IMX is not a meat stick. I doesn't drift lead well, not a spinner rod, It's a Canadian float rod! It needs to be treated as such. I'm sure the frontier is a very nice rod, but how true to the USA made blank? I'm honestly not that sure. PM JC tackle as he can set you straight.

The frontier is made from IM6, In no way would it compair to IMX. The float series- are a blend of materials. Got that from loomis site.

I have no idea about Loomis Canada but when I inquired about the weight on my Loomis USA IMX 13'4". The answer I got was G Loomis does not give out the weights of there factory rods or there blanks. I guess if you had the blank and put it on a digital scale you could find out there...

I've got some older blank catalogs, The real IMX is 2.35ounce blank. The 1601 Is a blend of gl-2&3, IT's not real imx. It's marketed as imx but the feel isn't close. Thats why they wont tell you.

Canadians can't tell the real weight because they don't use ounces...

Hey Ron where is your proof that the 1601 is a blend of GL2-3. I would have to strongly disagree with you. Is this just your opinion or do you have proof????

Fish usa- canadian float rods, gives specs for the float series and the frontier series. Says right there in the print -Frontier is im6, and float series is a blend of materials.

ron you change your story now why?

the rod you were referring to in your statement was the 1601 which is the 13'4" 3pc...

the frontier i know is not imx material i never disputed that...

i simply asked for wieghts of the blanks(frontier vs. IMX canada)...

    so why change it?
