Amazing how mucc believes all there 40,000 members feel exactly like the 15 or so members of the wildlife committee and club member reps that voted at their convention. The arrogance of saying everyone believes like the top brass is not true. They parade out that number to appear more relevant. I guess that's what all organizations do but, it still is disingenuous. If you oppose or reject the bill contact the senator.

Not surprising. during the crossbow thing, there members voted in favor at their convention. Leadership fought it to the end, plus some. Its a little different now. This is the legislature. If they can ignore the CWD plan for APR's, they can with bating also.
This is the guy that got the helmet law changed for ice fishing with quads. Not saying I am in favor but he gets things done.
I just wrote my boy Lee Chatfield to see if he would support this bill if it come down to it.
There ya go again, flat out lying about what happened with the MUCC crossbow decision. It just doesn't seem to matter to some people to lie lie, lie.
At least on 3 different occasions swampbuck has been been shown the truth, but guess what.......a lie just feels more natural so he keeps telling it.

Mandatory MUCC membership is why I quit the Cadillac Sportsmans Club. I have no use for them or U. P. Whitetails.
Did the majority support legalized crossbows. 58% I believe it was.
It may not have reached the 66% for policy change, but certainly a big enough majority not to go to the extent they did to fight it.
At least they have admitted that they were wrong.
Exactly, it did not reach the level for policy change. They had written rules to follow.
And yes, they fully supported crossbows once it was adopted.

I though the percentage was in the low 60's. ???
If you listened to Amy talk at the NRC meetings you were given the impression that they (members) were 100% against crossbows.
Once it passed they (MUCC) had no choice but to be in favor.
For this and other reasons I do not support them. I will not join any club with mandatory membership as someone else stated...
Money, donations, salaries, money, donations, salaries.....
I have contacted him, He is my Senator.
It will be interesting to see what the NRC does on the apr movement also
I was never opposed to them stating their position.
Just the level to which they took the fight, despite the membership voting in favor.
And I am not opposed to the baiting ban in a disease zone and sustantial buffer.
But to do that while moving forward with MAPRs despite Section 9 of the CWD plan, in the thumb, and in the CWD zone, Is beyond rediculous.
And smacks of the same cronyism between the NRC and QDM groups, we seen with MUCC and MBHA on the crossbow issue.
And THAT needs to be addressed by a higher authority.
And in my opinion, because it relates to disease, should be a general public discussion also.
Having read the comments at that MUCC article I'm glad hunters don't dictate the hunting regs. I do believe the voters (or their elected representatives) should have the right to over-ride decisions of our DNR and NRC but fear them too, since it is indisputable that they are bad at it.
They do have that right
