if YOU PLAN ON RENTING THEIR ( COHO LODGE) don't do it, we called to reserve it told them we had 2 trucks and boats that needed power so we can charge batteries' (walleyeing at night) they said no problem get there the lodge is sitting on edge of parking lot next to dump station love that smell when your grilling a steak sarcasm intended, they tell us we can only park 1 truck or 1 boat in front of cabin which is bs then they tell us to park are boats in overflow along 31 so you know all your stuff going to go missing also no power to plug in on top of that they wanted to charge us for it. this cabin cost us $555 for 4 nights after all of this and trying to come to some kind of resolution we ask for a refund on the 3 nights let and were told flat out no. I will never go there or spend a dime in that smug sobs camp ground again. He claims the contract says no refunds but when asked to provide us a copy he again refused and walked away. we tried to reason with him and come up with a comprise he wouldn't do it, no way to run a camp ground as far as I am concerned. I have stayed in campgrounds all over the county some for a month or more at a time never ran into something like this. So as I said beware of smug aholes

I see things haven't changed, we camped there back in 2002, worst week ever. Only good from that week, l caught a huge walleye. Never ever going to camp there again.

Not sure what to make of your thread Woodsy. I never stayed in the Coho Lodge but I really like this place and found the owners to be friendly. They make their living catering to fisherman. It's on the river with good access to the lake, has a great tackle shop, and their own marina with ramp. If you had two boats, there were probably four guys. That's less than 35$ a guy a night each.

Sounds about like the former owners of the Betsie River Swampsite moved a few miles south...

If it makes you feel any better, I was a seasonal at the Swampsite for years, and was informed one weekend that we weren't allowed to stay in our own camper, on our paid-for site, because we didn't call ahead. Almost 4 hours from home with an infant, a toddler, and a PO'd wife. Pulled my rig to a different campground the following week.

It amazes me how/why antisocial people buy campgrounds.

well bad dog check your math its 138 each for 4 nights he didn't refund our money for the 3 nights we didn't stay, maybe you didn't have an issue we did and it wont happen again. you rent a cabin that sleeps six and only allow one vehicle or one boat parked anywhere near it, bunch of bs in my book

I would have handled it differently. I would have just parked where I wanted and as long as I was not blocking traffic or taking someone else's spot, I would have told him that if he didn't like it, then he could either refund your money and you would leave, or he could just like it or lump it. Same thing for running power to the boats.
