The Shootist, Big Jake, actually pretty much any movie where you might hear someone get called "pilgrim". Used to enjoy watching "Gunsmoke" with my dad on the oldies channel.
MeTV plays all of the old classic western shows. I watched an old Gunsmoke the other day that had Chester, Festus and Quint all in the same episode. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that one before. GRIT TV plays a lot old classic western movies. They played The Searchers again recently and I watched it for the umpteenth time. Jon Ford loved to use Monument Valley for his westerns so much they named a landmark after him. John Ford Point…
More Violent movies. There Will Be Blood. (not sure this one is a true western but it was good) Hostiles. (seen this once but I am going to watch it again)
I'll toss in the HBO series "Deadwood" from 2004-2006. Starred Ian McShane. Post civil war era western with a little twist...actually a lot of them. Pretty rough language but couldn't wait for the next episode or the next season!
Yes to this....I hear they're supposed to do a movie to finish it since they didn't end it properly within the series. Not sure if that will truly happen though
'Hey Blonde!, you know what you are?!! Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez...my all time favorite movie character. The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly is the best.
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly Silverado The Magnificent Seven (The 1960 version. Haven't seen the 2016 version) TV would be Hopalong Cassidy or Gunsmoke
A lot of good movies mentioned above. I’m a John Wayne fan but Robert Duvall has to be the better actor in any of his movies. Modern tv series has to be Yellowstone Sent from my iPad using Michigan Sportsman mobile app

Actually- that movie was made -with most of the same actors. I found it on Amazon a while back and bought it. They did a pretty good job and it was a proper ending for the series I thought. It’s one of my favorite western series- by the way.
Enjoy watching a lot of westerns, too bad Hollywood wants 1,000 special effects a minute and crazy fast storylines. Open Range Quiggley Down Under Nearly any Clint Eastwood movie Last of the Dogmen Silverado Tombstone Young Guns 1 & 2 was enjoyable too Might start a fight but I stand with the earlier post about Robert Duvall vs. John Wayne, Duvall is one of the best actors ever and any role he has been cast in was better than the best performance Wayne ever did.
