    Wow thank you for posting that I grew up watching Fred trost those old movies got me tearing a little thinking of all the fishing trips with my uncle's and dad in the 80,s all those guys have passed bitter sweet walk down memory lane

    I had good luck once pulling a hook out of my pointer finger once with a set of hemostats and using the same twisting method you use to pull ticks. I did it with one while holding all of my gear, while wade fishing.

    I wrote it up at the time (about 2014). I just looked it up and reposted it the other day. Try it before you just rip it out.
