52A3F24A-519E-4612-8E78-26E26EF9B427.jpeg I am on my way to set a couple stands on the public landing that I hunt. I stopped for coffee and a breakfast burrito and came across this. I thought it was illegal to bait but this store isn’t far from where I hunt so now I’m not sure? I bought 2 bags of corn just in case. A couple guys In a green truck just pulled into the parking area, I’ll check with them.

It's not illegal to sell bait.
It's been flying off the shelves here in St.Clair

I thought it was ok on private land? I called my cousin, he said he buys his corn from this store too.

Baiting is legal in a large part of the state and so is Ohio. Maybe thats who’s purchasing the feed. Many suburban back yard deer feeders also purchase a lot of deer feed to supposedly keep them from eating their expensive landscaping. Very little game law law enforcement takes place in suburbia.

Just received an email from the DNR a little while ago. This is a screenshot of the baiting.

can't bait, can buy. it can be marketed as animal feed. 9 its not) , but it can. I generally buy a bag of corn but I use this all winter for pike spearing to help see the bottom. cheapest thing out there. and I have bought a bag of carrots, and put them up for our eating

Yep, I read it in on the internet also!!:yikes:
I hope he shoots a nice 12 point buck off it. If he gets caught it's only 8K or something like that.

Did you add any corn to the breakfast burrito? They say it helps keep the system regular.

    He doesn’t have a 12 point on camera, only a 10 point.

Grateful for the much needed clarification. No doubt that's exactly what Randall was in need of.
