Just picked up a new to me boat this past weekend. A serious upgrade from the tin can that I used to bring out to St Clair. The boat came with a ship to shore radio, but since I've never had the luxury of having one, I'm wondering if there's any radio chatter among members of this site while out there on the water. If so what channel. Thanks.

Here is a good list of how each of the channels is used

Text message is the way to communicate. Other than a radio check leaving port or to confirm a radio check, I rarely use my radio. Definitely don't share fishing location with the general public

And I am not a child. I have fished many tournaments on Lake Michigan and there is friendly radio communication between the participants. I realize that randomly fishing Lake St. Clair is not a tournament, but pardon me anyway for asking a simple question.

I did not say you were a child

I have no idea what experience you have. You said you have never had a radio.

I hear people using the radio like a CB all the time

    Just trying to help

    Excuse me for my concern

Honestly, the radio chatter on Lake Michigan is pretty much down to people doing radio checks and trying to get some intel. Rarely anyone replies. Text messages have taken over.
