Took the boy to the Big A on Friday. Didn’t fish around do to the opener. I would’ve, had I been solo. We didn’t try super hard, but just messed around and had fun.

We released two steelhead and a spent hen Atlantic. All fish came on a corky/spawn. Missed a good bite on my very first cast. Couldn’t get that one to come back though.

Flows are good, temp is 38*. Steelhead are very scattered from what I’ve saw and heard. Atlantic’s seem to be winding down fast in the areas we checked. Still not sure if there’s much more to come, though we saw a couple new fish cruising. I haven’t fished anywhere but the Au Sable the entire fall. Hope it picks up!

A corky is a small colored round ball that floats, your line runs through it like a bead.

I often do as well, especially in cold water season, but will run a cork for something different.
