Does anyone know when the last planting took place in Torch Lake Antrim County?
Have they started biting yet this year?

If you look at the fish stocking dB on michigan.org you will they are still planting the lake. My buddy told me it is pretty hit-miss up there for atlantics. Better fishing for lake trout right now.

Thanks a lot. I was getting conflicting answers about whether or not this was an active stocking program.

I saw a report indicating a fall finglerling stocking in 2011 and yearling stocking in 2012. This resonates with what I have seen before in print. Word of mouth reports state that they have planted EVERY year since the early 2000s which did not seem right and apprently isn't. The fall plants have been quite successful and I wish they would pump this fishery as it is very unique and seems appropriate for the Torch system.

Earlier this spring we took 3 atlantics in one outing.... it is a swing and hit (or miss) fishery, there one day gone the next....

I have been kayak fishing Torch out of Eastport; 3 times this season, with no atlantics yet. This past Saturday several other guys were trolling the dropoff there but everyone struck out.

I have bass fished the Elk/Torch chain quite a bit and have always wanted to try it for Atlantics as well. What sort of set up do you use to go after them? Is it similar to what you would use for kings out on the bay?
