Haven't been watching much news since deer season opened. Just wondered if there had been any deer hunting accidents reported since Opening Day? Hopefully nothing.

Does anyone know more about the young man shot and killed by stepfather in St. Clair Co. during the youth hunt. Charges ?
Also, accidents/injuries (falling or otherwise) during the bow season ?
    Thanks.

One hunter in Lake county fell out of his stand and died. Don't have any link to it.

Tree fell on and killed someone opening day from the wind. A member here posted it in LFTS.

It sure is safer now than it was when I started hunting in the late 50s.

Usually MLive has stories but none this year. Hopefully there won't be any.

Some kid fell a sleep in a corn field during bow season and the combine ran him over and killed him.

Having hunted a field that was being picked just last week I don't know how the kid would sleep through a combine running but who knows...

That was a silage chopper, but if anything, that would even be louder

These big new choppers go like hell across a field. But they are still noisy.

My kid sleeps through my wife "testing" a smoke alarm 8 ft above his head. She typically takes the opportunity to test the linked alarms when making popcorn on the stove.
