Anyone here have any experince with a similar boat and motor? The alumacraft is rated for max 150hp and im wondering if the 115 will be underpowered.

    No it won't, great motor.
I had a 19ft with it and I could run up to 45 mph on a calm flat water without a bunch of weight.

My 175 alumacraft will hit 42 mph with just me and a quarter tank of gas

96 Lund Pro V 1775 with 115 Merc. 40 mph is top and plenty for that size boat. JMO a 150 would tend to be hard on accessories when things get rough on the big water. Trolling motors, transom w/kicker, windshields , bouncing items in boat.
