Someone mentioned it earlier, SPAM. I read that they tried it in the air fryer and remembered I had a couple cans. I sliced up some Jalapeño SPAM and set it to 400 for about 8 minutes and holy ****!!! I mean SPAM isn't healthy and it's hard to improve its taste, but all the grease went to the bottom and it was perfectly crispy. Better than frying in a pan for sure. I might try frying Bologna in this sumbitch too.

My wife tried a couple batches in the air fryer and they were all right. They sure don't compare to deep fried! They are similar to the baked panfish she does, definitely not better. ImageUploadedByOhub Campfire1515115312.932992.jpg

That last sentence really cracked me up!
I’ll bet that was tasty... haven’t had Spam for years but always keep a few cans for blizzard rations among other things
I’m going to try that though.
Btw.... has anyone tried chicken gizzards in the fryer?
    Gonna try some tomorrow.

My grandma used to make me fried spam sandwiches from time to time. I never would have tried it otherwise. Man they are tastey, but it's something I have to be in the mood for. I haven't had one in a while so I figured I'd give it a whirl.

I'm serious about that last sentence! Lol

I did the french fry thing cut from fresh potatoes last night and they were a nice guilt free treat.

    Update:
Chicken gizzards are great in the air fryer.
Sprayed a coating of cooking spray on them and then dusted them with seasoned flour.
    About 5 minutes at 350.
    Shook them up.
    Another 5 minutes.
    Perfect.
I always boil gizzards for about an hour prior to frying at a low boil to tenderize.

Ohhhh. I'll have to try that. I love gizzards. When I'm frying up some fish I like to get a package of hearts and gizzards and fry them too. Always a nice little side treat. I never tried boiling them first though. I usually just chew til my jaw hurts. Lol

We always boiled them with celery and onion in the water. Have to try the air fryer

Finally tried some of my fish (crumbed walleye) & chips (Checkers frozen fries) in the air fryer. Walleye turned out surprisingly crisp and very good!

That does look really good, I had walleye last week but chickened out cooking the walleyes in it so I just stuck to cooking the potatoes in the A.F.

    Refer to post #110.
The fries I did first. 400° for 18 min. shaking up half way through. The fish I did at the same temp for 15 min, (thick chunks). Just before the fish was done I nuked the fries to warm up.
