Abrupt end

    After a good month of steady action, my salmon season is for the most part...over. The bite has really slowed to a halt over the last few days. A good mix of nice kings, and solid coho this fall. Skein was considerably better than bags this year. Early in the season, natural skein was very productive. Slowly, but surely, red started getting hot as the season went on. I didn't do anything on orange, which is unusual.

    I landed 4-5 fish in the 20+ range, which is the most that size in years for me. The coho came early, and in big number. They were also nice-sized, with fish into the lower teens around. They liked bags, which is typical, but we got some on skein as well. Yeah
