**Disclaimer** This is my buddy’s deer he shot last night and recovered this morning on a true Northern Lower Michigan PUBLIC Land ghost! He said I could “throw” some pictures on here to share. I get a text last night from my buddy stating “I think I just missed a deer of a lifetime” I could tell he wasn’t joking and was excited. Amongst a bunch of texts and profanities he states it was a big Albino or piebald buck. Long story short he states “I heard a loud crack and I am backing out and coming back in the AM with waders as I think I saw him just standing in the swamp.” I follow up with him at 8:45 this AM and I get a response stating “still alive - I see him blinking” with a picture of a buck bedded on the other side of a river. He states he needs to back out go to main road and cross the bridge and figure out a way to get a follow up shot on the buck. He put 2 stalks on the buck resulting in the buck getting up walking 50ish yards and laying down and then crossing the river again before a finishing shot through the neck. The recovery involved kayaks and paddling upstream with the buck in tow. He stated it was 20+ hours from initial shot until the buck was in his truck. I would say the effort was worth the reward!
