We are pleased to announce that registration for the 2017 Dreamweaver Charity Salmon Tournament is open:

The date of this year’s event will be Saturday, July 22nd at Fisherman’s Landing in Muskegon, MI.

The format of the tournament has not changed, and we are partnered again this year with Benefit4Kids. As in the past, 100% of donations will go directly to that organization.

Tournament fees are the same as last year: $75, which includes $70 for the tourney, and $5 for the big fish contest. We are also accepting PayPal this year, and a $5 fee will be added to your entry total to cover PayPal charges if you wish to pay by that method. If you are interested in receiving a PayPal invoice, please let us know and we’ll send an invoice to your email address, and you can pay online via PayPal/credit card.

If paying by check, please make payable to Tim Beck with “Dreamweaver Charity Salmon Tournament” in the notes section and mail to the address below:
    Tim Beck
    10366 Spring Valley Drive
    Alto, MI 49302

If you are interested in fishing this year’s event, please let us know by emailing your team name to setting.lines@gmail.com. We’ll get you added to the list and send the rules and waiver. Signed waivers may be returned with your check, scanned and returned via email, or submitted when picking up your Captain’s Pack.

Please note that we are keeping this year’s registration to 60 boats.
We will have a waiting list in case of cancellations or non-payment. Additional boats MAY be added at a later date.

Also, we will occasionally update this thread, but we encourage you to keep current on our Facebook page. It’s simply easier to keep track of everything in one location. Simply search for us on Facebook at Dreamweaver Charity Salmon Tournament.

Please let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to see you there!

    TOURNAMENT INFORMATION AND RULES:

    • This is a FUN charity tournament. We ask people to share fishing tips on the radio (channel 72). Please keep your comments at a PG rating. This is a family-oriented event.

You will be disqualified if you are not in weigh-in line by 1:00pm. A tournament representative will be ready to weigh fish by 11:00am.
    • Boats may use up to 9 rods in the water MAX at any one time (each team only has 9 lures so this shouldn’t be tough to follow).
    • Three-person DNR fish limit MAX per boat.
    • You may weigh 5 fish of the following: King, Coho, Steelhead, Browns, and Lake Trout.
    • Each fish will be worth 10 points plus weight.

    • All captains/representatives must sign a waiver form prior to getting their lure packages. A representative will be in the Fisherman’s Landing Pavilion from 4:30am to 5:00am on the day of tournament.
    • Lure packages will also be available Friday at the Fisherman’s Landing Campground. Park in the boat launch parking lot and walk into the campground please.

    • If you do not show up for the event, your lure package will be donated as a prize and money will not be refunded. To cancel you MUST email (setting.lines@gmail.com) or call Tim or Jo Ellen Beck directly. Phone numbers will be given to captains.
    • We will not be issuing a cancellation of tournament. Each captain is responsible for their boat and crew. In the event of inclement weather if no boats weigh fish, big fish money will be donated to charity and a raffle will be held in the pavilion at 1:00pm.
    • May 1st is the deadline to have entry fees in, this is because we have to order the lures and put the packages together. If you have signed up but not paid by the deadline date your spot will not be guaranteed.
    • Any boat that pays the entry fee prior to April 1st will receive 5 extra raffle tickets in their captain’s pack.

Just a quick update on this year's event. Here's the list of registered boats and payment status as of today. Just a reminder that if your payment is received by April 1, you receive 5 extra raffle tickets in your captain's pack. Based on feedback from some of you, the changing fishery, and the continued generosity of Dreamweaver, we are looking to change up the lure pack this year with some different options, so stay tuned. If you know anyone still interested in joining us, please have them email us at setting.lines@gmail.com.

Waiting on seeing if the 215 is getting fixed this year. If not, waiting to the last minute to see if the 14' will work based on weather. If not, will still be at the raffle.

    Hello everyone,

Our event is getting close. Here is the latest registration list as of today. There are a couple of other interested boats but we have room for more, so it's still not too late to get registered. Also, we have received a couple of new items from Dreamweaver for this year's event. In the past, our selection was typically spoons and couple of flasher/fly combos. This year, they have included a Captain's Choice plug and a lake trout rig. There is a total of 10 lures, as in the past, but you may only fish 9 rods at a time. The lake trout rig is a flasher with their version of the Spin-n-Glow, called the Whirlygig. It will come unrigged in your lure package. For rigging, you can either use a fly leader from one of the fly setups, or make your own from a length of mono, treble hook and a bead or two. We'll have a couple rigged when you pick up your lure packages if you have questions. While our rules state that lures cannot be altered, we need to make this exception and trust people will keep within the spirit of the event.

For those that have still not paid, please do so ASAP, or bring payment to the event. As in the past, lure packages will be available starting Friday afternoon around 3pm. If you intend to pick up your lures on Sat morning, please let us know. Call or text 616.438.5124 (Tim).

Please let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you there.

Just a quick update with our event a couple days away...

    1. Lure packages will be available starting Friday at 3pm at Fisherman's Landing campground in Muskegon. Park and walk in. Look for the awning and banner, it will be easy to see. There is no end time on Fri, someone will be around thru the evening.
    2. If you will be picking up your lure package on Sat and haven't done so already, please call/text Tim at 616.438.5124 and let me know. Packages will be available until ...5am at the pavillion next to the boat launch. After 5am, they will be available under the awning on the table at site 82. They will be labeled with your boat name. There should be a light on to help you.

More importantly, please be aware of the weather. Increasingly, it looks like there will be thunderstorms in the area on Fri night and Sat morning, possibly severe. There is no official cancellation policy...each captain is responsible for their boat and crew. Regardless of weather, the weigh-in and raffle will still occur at 1pm on Sat. If you decide not to pick up your lures because of the weather threat, please let me know. I will have your lure packages availabel at the raffle, so if you don't fish, you can still pick it up at the raffle.

I think that's it. Fishing reports have been decent to pretty good. We have 32 registered boats, so hoping the weather holds out for another great event. Look forward to seeing you there.

Again, my number is 616.438.5124. Please text/call with questions. Tim.

Thanks to everyone who participated in another great event. We had good weather and the fishing wasn't bad. The final standings, comments and acknowledgments are posted on our Facebook page. This year's event raised $4,700 for B4K. We look forward to seeing everyone next year. Tim.

Just spent my $20 gift card to Fish on Tackle. Funny how it still cost $71 when I left.
