A little more snow and then possibly rain. He said about 10 minutes after he shot he heard the neighbors shoot in the same direction the deer was running. He’s gonna check stop by and see if he got it, he’s kind of hoping he did just so he can get some kind of satisfaction in the deal.

The Body temp of that deer is warm enough the snow shouldn't stick to it. When you go back out after letting it laydown should be easy to find unless your in the knarly stuff where you could walk past and never know.

Back at it in Manistee County. Using the smoke pole and having a hard time keeping my powder dry.

    Good luck everyone!
Back out same area. Did not plan on a hunt this morning so wasn't dressed properly. Decided to snoop a little after a couple hours of being cold. Figured he was chasing tail so I walked into his area I feel..100 yds from where I seen him chasing. Time will tell I guess. One big bed, decent
rubs all in one tight little tangle and above it.

  6. Great view Airoh, looks like the right spot for this time of year. I thought maybe I would be able to sneak out, but the family has other plans. The now is coming down hard here, it looks perfect outside. I will get my chances this weekend. Reading along here until then.

  8. 34 degrees with light snow. Been waiting for this all season. I think they will be moving around tonight. Good luck and be safe

Cowhock knee covers kept a few flintlocks and percussion locks dry. A similar substitute should be easy enough to fabricate.

A spare glove has covered my bolt actions actions quite a few times.
Probably don't want to try to recall how many times a glove fell off....
Just bought another dozen brown cheapies. A fresh pair get welcomed sometimes. And allows for droppage....
I try to bank the better gloves for last.

    Shoot a biggin Steve!

I’m out for tonight’s hunt. Snow on the ground and it keeps coming down. Bumped a buck on the way in, dont think it was my #1 though.

Back in the box blind for this evening. Warmest and driest place I have and I'm actually getting quite fond of it. I can cover quite a bit of land from here with the 450 so it's a win win situation. Snow is really coming down but changing to rain soon. Hoping they get hungry early. Good luck to all that are out.
