15 - 20 lb floro...as harness fishing is not a finesse tactic, as I am sure you well know
p.s. a fly tying vise, to hold the hook, makes it easier to do a proper job, too

I have used those pre-rigged worm harnesses..the pan fish size...worked well. Buy a few to try out...or make them...as you would crawler harness. Also try Rooster Tails.
No first hand info on a cabin, but Thunder Bay would be a great choice, for bass.
