I bought the 300 BLK, killed 2 deer with it this past fall. I sighted it in, but I haven't rung it out its precision capabilities. I only have a 2.5x Leupold on it anyway. But, its perfect for short range hunting in the brush. However, I may put one of my red dots on it.
I have both the Scout V2 TD in .350 Legend and .450 Bushmaster. The .350 is a real soft shooter, and what you would want to start young shooters out on.
I ran across that ad too. That is a great price on a great shooting rifle. There will probably be some really excellent closeout prices on the Hunters once the new blued Scouts hit the stores.
Any "cons" to getting a blue Scout? I do not mind blue, unless it is one that easily rusts.
looks like you lose the TD feature, but is that a big deal?
Will a 350 Legend still have a threaded barrel?

I have a scout in 44 mag for my young daughter and was wondering if the aftermarket youth stock would fit the new scout in .350? Anyone have a clue to this?
Thank you. I asked my 9 year old daughter about upgrading from her .44 mag if we could swap her youth stock onto a new .350 and she replied "Na I'm good"

BUSTA'YOTE as our local gun expert i have a question. I have the scout v2 would the thumb hole stock work on that gun and for the looks of it i would need to order the recoil pad screws and cap if i wanted to go that route! Thanks
A long the same line, Can Scout V2 barrels be swapped one receiver to another receiver?
I saw just a barrel offered for sale less than 1/2 the price of a complete rifle.
Or what is required to fit a different barrel?
The company would say they would need to be individually fitted, but I'd bet they are all made identical and would interchange.
They are never sold from the factory as just a barrel, so what would have happened that someone is just selling the barrel.
Oddly enough, one time last year I saw a complete CVA Scout sell on Ebay. It is amazing what gets listed there sometimes.

I had a listing for shotgun screw in choke tube removed by eBay and received a warning that I violated eBay's firearms policy. I could not convince the IDIOTS at eBay a screw in choke tube did not violate their firearms policy.
When I tried to sell a Sig Sauer P320 grip module eBay gave me a 30 day ban from selling. They claimed it violated their firearms policy and was clearly a firearms frame/receiver.
I know the Hunter and Scout differ in finish (blue & stainless), and also barrel release, But are the barrels any different?
What I am leading up to, is if Scout barrels "might" interchange, what about Hunter to Scout? Or Scout to Hunter?
Or because of the different barrel releases, the barrels are also different?
I do not have both to compare.
I prefer the looks and operation of the scout, but if deals for Hunters make a barrel swap possible...……..
The new version possibly could. From my understanding the old hunter version was a totally different system. There were complaints about that action type/lockup, etc. So, condensing these was a good thing.
I have the hunter model in 45-70
Since they quit makeing the hunter . If there ever is a time I may need parts or repair will I still be able to get them
They will probably honor repairs as long as they have parts in stock. But, there will be a point when they no longer will service discontinued models. Not sure what the options would be at that point, unless they offer a very good deal on a trade in to a current model.
I had a 44 Scout for a few years, after having the same in 450, but sent it down the road, and bought a Marlin. Frankly, glad to be done with that company and their guns.
I like my hunter 45-70. It's one of the best shooting rifle I ever owned. I have had good luck with CVA . I have thought about buying one in 450BM.
I had a H&R handi rifle also in 45-70 . It also shot good. Not as good as the CVA. Hopefully CVA honers the lifetime warranty
Since CVA has a lifetime warranty, I would think if the Hunter became nonrepairable do to lack of parts, they would upgrade you to the most comparable model.
