    Wild Thing,
I am trying to figure out what settings/seed rates/row spacing/ to use to accomplish a decent corn plot with the 606NT. My plan is to Plant Green into CC and WW on 30 inch rows, using 2 seed tubes and blocking the other 7. Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first post on any forum ever, so I am sorry if I violated any forum etiquette.

TNT - Welcome to the forum. Probably the best way to accomplish our communications is via the Personal Message or "Conversations" function on the forum rather than through my profile page. I will bump you there...

Since you seem to be the guy in charge of this department I’ve got a question for you. I’m not entering this buck yet in hopes of a bigger one but he’s a mainframe 8 with a broken main beam and I don’t know if he’s a 7 or a 6 technically speaking so I’m going to let you make the call. The break is to my best guess longer than an inch but I don’t know how you want to score it. Let me know what you think…

Hey WT, I am looking to start doing some out of state outfitted hunts. Another member suggested reaching out to you. If you have any insight and don’t mind sharing that would be great! Looking to stay in the 3k or so range. Looking at outfits anywhere from Ohio to Kansas. Any recommendations or thoughts would be appreciated, thanks!

Hey WT, just curious how your hunt played out this year with makwa river, sk.? I may have missed your posting. Also curious what powder & bullet load your wife shoots in her m loader for those big Canadian whitetails. I have been shooting 100 gr of black horn 209 with barnes 250 gr bullet & great results. Thanks.

Yes - I posted the Saskatchewan deer in the deer hunting forum with pics but we didn’t go to Makwa this year. Went with a smaller outfitter that caters to bow hunters (and muzzle loaders). Also listed our muzzle loader loads (with pics) on the deer hunting forum on a thread about the Barnes 250 grain TEZ. Working well for us too.

Frank, I frost seeded switchgrass last October and again this year in March. We're in mid Menominee County. When do you think would be a good time to spray simazine? Thanks, Mike.

Hi Mike - The only time I have personally used Simazine is when I planted switchgrass, but I drilled mine - first time was in 2018. I sprayed it in either late March or early April. I should think you would be good to go as soon as the frost comes out of the ground.

Tried to post my notes but you are limited here to 240 characters. Will try on a "conversation" message.

Wt, so I have a buddy ready to spray and kill off my front field. He’s got a John deer 750 no till drill. You think that equipment would be able to set up for switch seed? No pressure or responsibility to your opinion but regarding equipment, is a Jd 750 got the ability to plant this right? Sorry if you already answered this in your posts....I’ll go look again!

Sorry Gily - I don't have any experience with the JD-750. I have heard of it, of course, and I see no reason why it couldn't be used for drilling switch, provided it has a box for small seed. Switchgrass seed is very small and could not be accurately seeded in the large grain box. Best of luck with our switchgrass planting.

I am in Marquette County in the process of getting a Forest Management Plan, could you tell me who your logger was? Sounds like a good one.

My forester is Dean Francis - Upper Michigan Land Management (Escanaba). We have used him for management plans as well as 3 timber sales over the past 25 years. My last timber harvest was done by J. Carey Logging - careylogging.com (Channing) Both very highly recommended.
