.25 rimfire shells are tough to come by. I picked up half a box a few years ago. I still haven’t fired mine yet. If you’re interested I’ll be in the UP next month and could drop off a couple to you.

Thanks for the offer. The rifling is rusted bad from not cleaning of the black powder residue. I’m sure it will fire but I’m good with retiring it.

Hope you don't mind me contacting you directly. As you may recall I have an established one acre clover plot in the u.p. It is in Faiport. I'm looking to establish a better fall spot for deer. Deer love this spot in the spring and summer. We are loaded w/ fawns. However come fall its pretty minimal. Can you suggest a mix for me. Prefer no till. thx.

For years my go to plot has been a brassica blend planted in late July. I have heavy soil so some years getting it to grow well is difficult with the amount of rain we get. Aroostook rye is my back up plan and part of my crop rotation now. If you have a way to fence out deer for a brassica blend you will be well served on a small plot. Good luck.

I used to live in Ripley just west of the ski hill and my wife used to live by the sandstone school in Ripley. I am 61 years old and miss the Copper Country but my wife wants no part of moving back to the area. Her number one goal is to be close to our kids.

Just read your post on "for the old guys" about your experiences in the UP. I assume that your grew up in Houghton, Hancock, Calumet area. I can relate with alot of what you wrote. I grew up in Hancock, However you appear to be just a little older than I am. Just got a kick out of it. I now live in Grand Rapids, but miss the UP from time to time, dont get back there much anymore.

I have a miscanthus plant in my office, planted in a 10 gallon pot (took a rhizome section from a plant in September) and it is almost 5 feet tall in less than 2 months.
