      Seen, killing and deliberately not using that deer is poaching to me. Perhaps it is me but I hate to see an animal needless suffer. I have passed up deer because I did not have a high percentage shot. I am sure that I am not the only hunter that does that. If you do not see such a person as a poacher that is fine. It is just one way that I define the word.

      Since the thread was closed in which you directed a question at me, I thought I would answer your question here. The Hunting Digest stated the rule that I quoted on page 60 of the 2017 issue. In the case cited I don't think that came close to that description. I have seen too many deer shot with both archery and firearms where there was no attempt to find them unless they dropped immediately.
