I was out crappie hunting and found a big one floundering. I tried to resuscitate it for a while then brought it back to the dock. Spent more time, but no success. 51 1/2" and couldn't weigh it. My fish scales go to 25# and wasn't enough. Female, undeveloped eggs, and nothing in the stomach. A nice trophy fish for sure. bb

Saw you out yesterday morning. Just wondering if you hooked up with a big one across the lake from me. More.

How are you rigging for a second lure? Are you actually using a 3 way swivel or tying a second line/leader to your main line above the snap so it stops at the top of the snap? Thanks

Yes, actually using a 3- way either the "Y" type or the "T" type 3-way Dropper line is 18 inches and the trailer 40 inches. Once I'm In 15 fow I always have it on. and it really seems deadly at the 20-30 fow

Wanted to share I bought some SPs and my son and I caught two pike out of 25 FOW up in Lake county. One was 35 inches and the second was 30. Our lake has one deep basin and we fished there as the weeds are less cumbersome. took some netting skills from a pontoon boat. It was his first pike!

Wow I like to see video of someone trolling a spoonplug from a pontoon boat. As for weeds adjust your line lengths so that you run just above them. What size SP were you running? It takes an 800 to run 25 FOW, effectively.
    Have fun

Thanks for the clarification. That must have been a hoot with the cowboy. I purchase a couple of SPs and will try them up at my cottage on Big Bass Lake in Irons, MI. We have a few pike but we only seem to get them through the ice. Hoping the SPs even the score a bit. Either way they will be fun.

Good to hear about the Spoonplugs What sizes did you get? Run those puppies on either 12lb NOBO Mono or 20 lb Braid? A good heavy action rod with also make your experience better. Fished Big bass years ago on a blast and cast weekend with Spaniel buddies, Always fun when you take a few fish and some grouse the same weekend. Have fun!

Hi I saw your your tube video on pleasant lake related to spoonplugs for pike. Can you confirm this is the lake in Edwardsburg? I ask as co-work who lives on the lake and has family claims there is no way pike exist in the lake and your video is hard to refute if it is indeed that lake. thanks!
