I read your post with this in it (we saw a few in your go to hole, ), I am just wondering if this is between Whirlpool and the dam and if floating down it is on the right side? rw from the green boat.

Yeah, that dead slow **** is perfect bobber water. Isn't that where everybody used to kill the LRB's in the winter?

Damn bro, your on the brownies lately! Where'd ya get this one, below the bridge? Hey, do you float along the walkway, down by the pipe? That can be a good spot. Dude, it totally sound's like the East side has been kicking West side ASS lately. Fresh brown pump, lucky ****er!

Hey, the Au Sable is starting to pick up in the lower river, and sound's like theres a few browns around. I guess the East branch is going good too. I'm going up probably Tues-Wed.....

Finally tagged a fish today, nice chrome hen. A few fish are starting to move a little, but overall it's still pretty slow(early).

Oh no, you got the only "steelhead" last time, your cut off! It don't matter to me, I'm just ready man! It's gonna be great weather, well a cloudy warm day would be good, but that sun will warm the water and might get us a nice afternoon bite. This is about the time we went last year, and sight fished that pod of 20-25 fish.....

You ****er Chris:lol:! Was she a chromey? I fished the Boyne and the Bear today, and didn't hit ****. BUT, there's been a few over the last couple days hooked in the Bear, but this cold snap will shut that right down:mad:. I had just got off the lower Boyne, and my buddy Matt called and said him and another dude we know just tagged 2. There was also a filleted carcass in the trash barrel there.

No, I don't go through Alpena, unfortunantly. I take 131 to Gaylord, then take 75 to West Branch, get off on 55 east, and then get on 23 in Tawas, and go north to Oscoda. I can take 66, but the turns around East Jordan are pretty tight, so you can't speed through there. It's considerably longer then my old drive from Bay City, that's for sure. I could hit the Big Man in a shorter amount of time and a shorter drive, but I'd rather fish the Au Sable. If I went through Alpena, I'd just hit up 9th St. I'll be there at some point this spring though, probably when I fish the Oc.

Nice bro. What BB's you get? Your river is doing great, the one's over here by me, suck.....

Chris, the blackbird phantoms are what I like, especially for smaller rivers. And the TB not being super deep(never was sure on depth there), the #4 would be perfect. You should get some #8's as well, that's the biggest size I've found, which would be good for high water or the Au Sable. Bucks always seem to have color, I've seen them come in pretty damn colored up. The last time I tagged some steelhead in the TB was about 3 years ago, the first week of April. I caught 2 males, one dark(first drift), one chrome; nobody else caught anything but walters. I hope with them planting browns again, you guys get a run. The TB used to be famous for it's LRB fishing, it was ridiculous.

Cool man, they're on the way! If you guys get some rain, there will most definanetly be a run of sorts. Were they winter fish or freshies? My little river here(boyne) opened up good, but isn't running much for flow, atleast it's open though. We're supposed to get 1/4-1/2 inch of rain tonight, with temps well into the 40's the next 2 days, hopefully scoots a few fish up.....
