      Hi Andy:

Thinking of fishing in Tawas, Oscoda and want to try leadcore. Looking at posts, guys are fishing 2 color, 5 color, 10 color etc. If you had 2 rods to rig, how many colors would you settle on? Would you even use lead core? I have a house in Au Gres and fish for walleye there. In Tawas, Oscoda I'd like to catch other species. Your suggestion on how to rig my rods would be much appreciated.

      Thanks,
      Beegle

That's a tough one. This time of year 10 color is the best. Warm water is deep and you need the full core to get through that. When cold water is near the surface shorter cores shine. If only 2 rods I would set up 5 colors. Then add snap weights to them if you need to get them deeper. I would really suggest getting 4. With a 2,3,5 full(10). You can get rods and reels at nothwoods pretty cheap. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I wondered if that was the case. I may go with 4 rods and 10 colors this year and add some more next spring. Tight lines and hope to see you out there. Dave

Hey toepicher. Just got out of football practice. Just fish 50 to 70 east of the lighthouse. Spoons 3-4 inches. Blue dolphin has been hot. Screwball monkey puke too. Five color and full Core, divers and riggers have all been catching fish. 2.0-2.5 seems to catch both steel and walleye.

Thanks for your input on the Atlantics. Do you fish harbor beach, or do you stick to your home waters Tawas etc. And if you do venture over to the far east side, send me a pm and we could meet/ follow out. Im going to hb next few days to see if the ramp is ice free. Was still iced in this past Sunday with 2 guys fishing. I live near caseville. . Again thanks, Fishbuster
