      Hi Bob,
The graft tree is a large wild tree that I brought back from the dead 6 or 7 years ago. While taking the back roads home a few years ago I stopped a couple times to try some apples that were growing in the ditch. One of them had smallish apples but were very sweet.
My tree has large tart apples good for apple sauce but not the best for eating straight from the tree. This February I snipped a few scions and wrapped them in moist paper towel and put them in the crisper of the fridge. When the sap started flowing on my tree I took them out and grafted them on. I did two grafts and both were successful. I used some paraffin wax, sharp hunting knife, and cut strips from zip-loc sandwich bags.

Airoh - tell me more about the ditch apple graft photos? What type tree is it grafted to? I am so intrigued??

      Thanks - Bob
